The Interreg funded project ReCap ASáp: Regaining capacity in a changing Sápmi is organising the course “Develop Practical Skills as a Grant Writer”. This course is designed to provide participants with the key skills necessary to effectively handle the complex process of grant writing.
📅 Date: 24.-25.5.2024
📍 Place: Inari, Finland
⌛️ Deadline to register: 10.05.2024
All costs covered. Limited spaces available.
Contact for registration and more information: enni.simila@saamicouncil.net
Key highlights of what the course will provide:
Thorough understanding of how to write project applications
Ways to create interesting project descriptions and funding requests
Methods for clearly explaining your organisation's goals
Ideas on how to make your organisation stand out when applying for funding
Practical exercises and real-world case studies for hands-on learning
Opportunities for networking and collaboration with other Sámi organisations
In the fast-moving world of NGOs, being able to turn current ideas into future successes is very important. A skilled grant writer is key to making this happen. Organisations that understand how important good grant writing is are much more likely to succeed in their missions. A well-written grant proposal clearly shows how an organisation plans to reach its big goals and also shows funders that the organisation is serious and committed to its project.
Also, in Sápmi, many organisations depend on project funding. There are many opportunities for Sámi projects to get project funding, but there aren't many applications from Sápmi, which shows how crucial it is for the Sámi community to get better at writing grant proposals. Improving these skills can really make a difference, leading to more funding opportunities and helping the Sámi community's projects get noticed and supported.
We believe that your participation in this course will contribute to the collective advancement of the Sámi community’s objectives.

SÁMI DJ SET BY SAVZA 21.06.22 @beursschouwburg
INDIGENOUS HOUSE MUSIC FROM THE ARCTIC AT BEURSSCHOUWBURG ROOFTOP - FREE ENTRANCE
Savza is a Sami house artist from Unjárga, in Norway's far north, who blends his heritage into his beats by incorporating indigenous influences into modern club music. To add to the mystique of his image, Savza wears a Sámi inspired Venetian mask.
Savza's passion for club music began when he was a child. After spending countless hours listening to the finest synth melodies in his daily life, he decided to make some of his own. Savza thrives on the stage and has traveled to Brussels from the frigid north to bring some fire to the dancefloor with strong basslines and crisp beats.
