Sámi Youth Network - Joining Forces
The project “Sámi Youth Network - Joining Forces" is an initiative led by the Saami Council in collaboration with project partners Sáminuorra, Suoma Sámi Nuorat, and NSR-nuorat. Supported by the Nordic Culture Point, the two-year project (2023-2025) fosters cross-border collaboration among Sámi youth from Finland, Norway, and Sweden, providing a platform for Sámi youth organizations to connect, share knowledge, and work together on issues of shared concern.
Project Activities and Participants
The project includes regular monthly online meetings, which enables the Sámi youth organizations to share news and updates. Additionally, the network organizes physical gatherings as opportunities arise, allowing participants to connect in person and strengthen cross-border ties.
Currently, seven organizations and councils are actively participating in the network:

Nuoraidráđđi - Sámi Youth Council of the Sámi Parliament in Finland
SáNuL - Youth Political Committee of the Sámi Parliament in Norway
One of the key outcomes of the project will be Gávnnadeapmi 3, a major Sámi youth gathering planned for 2026. This event will feature workshops, cultural events, and discussions designed to empower young Sámi and explore issues that matter to them.
