Seminar: Sámi Culture in Rapid Climate Change

In 2022, the Saami Council will prepare a Sámi climate report that compiles findings on the consequences of climate change and how they are expected to affect Sámi culture, livelihoods, and society.

Through invited speakers, the seminar will provide a brief insight into the content of international research work and Sámi observations. Participants will have the chance to share their own experiences, observations and reflections based on knowledge and needs about the topic. After the workshop, we hope that the participants will have a deeper understanding of climate change in Sápmi, and how it affects our culture. The participants' contributions will help the Saami Council's climate report draw on a wider body of expertise.
