ReCap ASáp launches Knowledge Hubs

The ReCap ASáp project has established six Knowledge Hubs, consisting of six experts, working on six different topics.

The knowledge hubs are centred around topics that have been identified as relevant to building societal resilience to the rapid changes in Sápmi. The experts will compile knowledge into knowledge bases that will be available for future use, such as for decision-making or policy development.

Here are two of the Knowledge Hubs!

Christina Hætta, Unna-Maaria Pulska, Ingá Elisá Påve Idivuoma, Hanna-Maaria Kiprianoff, Iŋga-Máret Gaup-Juuso, and Oskar Östergren Njaita.

Border obstacles in kultur-Sápmi

One of the Knowledge Hubs we are presenting here, is led by the Saami Council’s Cultural Unit, and works on identifying border obstacles for the Sámi cultural field. Through input from, amongst others, existing knowledge and the Sámi art field, they will come up with concrete measures for how to strengthen the Sámi cultural field’s possibility to live and work as one common cultural field - across national borders in Sápmi.

The participants in the first meeting were Christina Hætta (NO, Sámi cultural worker, head of Saami Council Cultural unit), Unna-Maaria Pulska (FI, Culture secretary Saami Council), Ingá Elisá Påve Idivuoma (SWE, duojár, project worker Dáiddádállu), Hanna-Maaria Kiprianoff (FI, leu’dd artist, Ä’vv Skolt Sámi Museum), Iŋgá-Máret Gaup-Juuso (FI, yoiker), and Oskar Östergren Njaita (SWE, filmmaker, Aejlies).

Helene Lindmark, Margret Fjellström, Janne Hirvasvuopio, Ina Rehn, Anna-Britta Rikko, and Annie Henriksen.

Gender in Sápmi

The other Knowledge Hub is centred around different topics connected to gender and equality. Here, the members will together discuss and reflect upon gender roles and how they are perceived in Sápmi, and also on how to increase awareness on the topic in Sámi society.

The members of the first meeting are Ina Rehn (SWE), Helene Lindmark (SWE, Sámi nissonforum), Annie Henriksen (NO, Sámi nissonforum), Margret Fjellström (SWE, Niejda) and Anna-Britta Rikko (SWE, Girjás Čearru, Sáráhkka) and Janne Hirvasvuopio (FIN, Sámediggi),

The results of the Knowledge Hubs will be launched and will be available as a knowledge base for decision-makers.
