The first part of the Lávdan Sámi Arena programme is ready!

We are happy to finally share the first part of the program for Lávdan Sámi Arena!

It is a programme that covers a wide variety of topics, and different types of events. For Lávdan Sámi Arena, we are also utilising the multitude of venues that Guovdageaidnu has to offer, and events will take place at arenas such as Allaskuvla, Čoarvemátta, at the LES-house, and at Thon hotel. Lávdan Sámi Arena will therefore be noticed in all of Guovdageaidnu. 

Some of the larger events that will fall under Lávdan Sámi Arena this year are KulturSápmi and DutkanSápmi-Dieđavahkku, which will have their own programmes that will be published soon. We are also able to announce that there will be a two-day seminar for reindeer herders, arranged by the Sami Parliament of Norway, as well as a two-day seminar on joik arranged by Luovvi luohtteguovddáš.

Beyond these larger events, there are multiple sessions on topics ranging from healthcare, gender, education, and also language. More topics are also to come! These will take multiple forms, such as seminars, conversations, or panels, to create engaging sessions for a variety of audiences. 

There will also be spaces for meeting and connecting with other people, such as during Giellaspilla kafeá, arranged by Divvun giellateknologiija, or at the duodji exhibition put together by Duodjeinstituhtta. 

Each morning will also start with a coffee session on various topics, in the popular TED talk style, to kick off the day. The evenings will end with cultural events, such as theatre performances put up by or in collaboration with Beaivváš. 

And there are more things to come! The programme will from now on be published continuously, with more sessions aimed at learning and knowledge sharing within different sectors, and also with cultural and social events.
